Established in 1826, Pittards became known for its expertise in dyeing leathers and its breakthrough technology in waterproof and washable leathers. It acquired other leather manufacturers to form the Pittards Group as a forward-looking, expanding company. In 1987 the Pittards Group merged with Garnar Booth PLC, one of its largest UK competitors. With the expansion, the company’s range of products now included clothing leathers and more niche pieces such as chamois leather.
